‘Developing an iwi eco-system of content creators’
Tēnā koutou katoa!
Keeping in contact with whānau is a huge challenge for most iwi across the motu. Keeping whānau connected to their whenua, to where they belong, also has its challenges. However, as Māori, our stories and abilities to tell and share stories are inherent and very natural.
Three Taranaki iwi have joined together with the support of Te Puni Kōkiri to develop an iwi-led communications framework with the goal of bringing together uri and form a natural ecosystem of rangatahi content creators!
Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa, Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Mutunga and Te Kāhui o Taranaki Iwi will be delivering three wānanga throughout the year that explores The Why (strategic communications), and The How (tools and implementation).
This kaupapa will be known as “PUA TE ATA” and comes from our local karakia Tērā Matariki.
Within the karakia “ka pua te ata” refers to the blossoming of the morning. In our context, it refers to the development of capacity and capability in the communications space, network engagement growth and interaction. It also aligns to the growing aspirations of individuals who have the potential to contribute their narratives to the various iwi entities.
If you are 18-25 years of age and consider yourself a natural writer, have an eye for visual storytelling or love nothing more than to figure out the big picture stuff, we want to hear from you. If you are outside of the age bracket and genuinely interested, please still apply.
