Join us as we share kōrero about Te Kohia Pā and reflect on the shared history of our region and the importance of reconciliation and healing. The destruction of Te Kohia was one part of a series of traumatic events, but by acknowledging and understanding this history, we can work towards building stronger, more equitable relationships in our community.
In partnership with New Plymouth District Council, ngā hapū – Manukorihi, Otaraua and Pukerangiora and with the support of Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa, a number of online and physical wānanga have been planned to help shape the planning and business case of the Te Kohia Pā development project. Our desire is to recognise, develop and educate people in respect of the cultural heritage of the area.
