Last week, we were fortunate enough to welcome our whanau to their new whare at Papapounamu. This housing development has been under construction for the last 12 months, and now our whanau have been handed the keys to enjoy their new homes.
A huge mihi goes out to everyone who played a role in creating Papapounamu. It is a stunning example of our culture, our narrative and our people.
It is in the heart of the winter maiden to bestow her nourishments onto the land. Where there lay snow, there lay the natural essence of the sky and land. Gifts given to replenish our iwi as seasons pass. Let us grow resilience for what is yet to come and thrive together.
