Ko te tangi mai a Pīpīwharauroa, te tohu o te Kōanga. Nau mai ngā hua o Hine Mahuru e. Tukia te kō ki te whenua. Kia ihu oneone mai nei ngā hua o te wā. He whenua tupu ora. He ora tupu tangata e.
Nau mai ki tō tātou nei tuhinga e kīa nei ko Te Iho Tangata e rauroha mai nei. Anei he hiranga kaupapa, he hiranga kōrero.
The call of the Pīpīwharauroa heralds the arrival of Spring, signalling a season of renewal, growth, and abundance. Oh, Hine Mahuru (Spring Maiden) may your blessings nourish our whenua and people. As we turn the kō into the soil, we honour the work of our tūpuna and prepare the land to flourish. Through efforts, may abundance be cultivated for both the whenua and the communities it sustains.

Hine Takurua 2026 Collection is now LIVE
E te whānau, the wait is over.
The Hine Takurua 2026 Collection is now available to purchase online for a limited time only. This year’s collection celebrates Te Tangata; the people who carry our stories, our values, and our legacy forward.
The story and image at the heart of the collection is the expert workings of Te Atiawa uri Haoro Hond, and represents our people’s strength, identity, and enduring spirit.
Inspired by the symbolism of the Raukura, each garment reflects the values that continue to guide us: Leadership, Integrity, Humility, Identity, and Responsibility.
This collection is more than clothing; It is a reminder that we are the living carriers of the wisdom and teachings handed down by our tūpuna. Through the way we live, lead, and uplift others, we honour those who came before us and those who will follow.

MARFELL COMMUNITY HAUORA DAY

Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa were delighted to attend the inaugural Marfell Community Hauora Day in late August. The day was one of joy, whanaungatanga and prosperity, as students of Marfell School, their whānau and wider community occupied the school grounds to embrace the offerings of over numerous organisations.
With hauora being the focus of the day, attendees were met with free health checks and resources, health-related activities, nutritious kai and the ability to access information relating to all things wellbeing – mental, emotional, social, cultural, spiritual and physical. Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa had a tent with Hatchet Throw, giveaways and some lollies (to balance out the fruit offered at other tents 😉), which proved a hit with the tamariki.
The event demonstrated the immense potential that comes from generosity, collaboration, and proactivity. The sense of community was felt through and through; many expressed their excitement for next time. Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa echo that feeling and wants to thank Marfell School, the Marfell Community Trust and all others who brought this fantastic day to life. E kore te puna mihi e mimiti!
