The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery / Len Lye Centre is looking for a curatorial intern of Māori descent with close ties to Te Ao Māori. The gallery is providing a professional development opportunity to gain experience in all areas related to exhibition making for someone who is interested in a future career in the arts.
Focus of Internship
The 2019 Govett-Brewster Art Gallery internship will support the preparation of an exhibition for the gallery’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2020 as well as a solo exhibition of new work by artist Brett Graham (Tainui, Ngāti Kōroki Kahukura).
Internship / Role Description
Support of Exhibitions & Collections Team including
– research of artworks for the exhibition and publication
– assistance with education and public programmes
– exhibition tours
– assistance with the collection database Vernon
– assistance with registration
– assistance with exhibition communication
