Hineraumati 2025 – Summer Kākahu Collection

Whānau at the heart, whakapapa in every detail – discover the collection

The Hine Raumati Collection 2025, created by our whanaunga Ngāneko Eriwata, is grounded in the deep layers of our whakapapa and our connection to the taiao (environment). Te Atiawa, traces back to Awanui-ā-rangi, the sacred link binding tangata to atua and connecting the heavens to the earth. This whakapapa begins with the cosmic forces of Te Pō, Te Kore, Te Ao, Te Ao Mārama, followed by Ranginui and Papatūānuku, who continue to share space with the stars above.  Te Taiao is our living library, carrying the stories of our atua, the lessons of our tūpuna, and the signs that guided their survival. Through Awanui-ā-rangi, we inherit whakapapa to Ranginui and Papatūānuku, reminding us that our genealogy connects us not only to each other but to the environment.

The collection reflects three elements: Te Mata-ō-Rehua, symbolising the breath of life Rehua gave to Tāne Māhuta; Te Kauae-ō-Mahuika, the jawbone constellation where Rehua shines at its centre; and Te Rere-ō-Awanui-ā-rangi, a flowing design inspired by the river and tuna fin, representing whakapapa moving through generations.

These elements honour our interconnection with Atua Māori, Te Taiao, and our tūpuna down to our mokopuna. Awanui-ā-rangi stands as a bridge between heaven and earth, carrying the sacred waters and life force within each of us as Te Atiawa.
