Kia ora my name is Shirley Tutao,
I am of Tainui descent and I am the Maori student support Manger/Coordinator for the Maori students that are enrolled in the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Health Sport and Human Performance at the University of Waikato. I have been in this position for 14 years and thought thought I would develop a relationship with Te Atiawa, as a new initiative to create/provide a platform where we can seek your support to assist our students who descend from Te Atiawa with an education grant they may be entitled to.
I have 2 students from our faculties who are interesting in applying for an education grant. I understand this year is closed however, if we can organize some kind of contact process to ensure that I can provide these students with the best information to apply for 2020.
Having shared that information. Can you tell although there is a grant open. Will the students be denied if they have a study free Year 1 status.
